DMCA Policy

Strikeout respects the intellectual property rights of others and responds to valid copyright notices. This DMCA policy explains how Strikeout handles takedown requests.

Strikeout Does Not Host Any Content

Strikeout does not store, upload or host any video files on its servers. The site only links to or embeds streams that are hosted on third-party platforms and are already freely available online. Strikeout has no control over the content on those external servers.

Because the media is hosted elsewhere, removing a link from Strikeout does not remove the underlying file. To take a video down at the source, the copyright owner should also contact the third-party host directly.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content linked from Strikeout infringes your copyright, you may send a written notice to our designated contact. We review every valid notice and act on it promptly, usually by removing or disabling the link in question.

What Your DMCA Notice Must Include

To be valid, your notice must contain the following:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • The exact URL on Strikeout where the material is linked, with enough detail for us to locate it.
  • Your contact information, including name, address, phone number and email.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Forwarding to the Host

Since Strikeout does not host the files, we may forward your notice, or guidance on contacting the actual host, so the content can be removed at its source. This gives a faster and more complete result than removing a single link.

Counter-Notification

If a link was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification with your contact details, the link that was removed, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was an error.

Repeat Infringers

Strikeout may remove links and restrict access in cases involving repeat infringement, in line with applicable law.
